D'oh! Diabetes Bloopers

This post is also part of D-Blog Week: Day Three's topic- Diabetes Bloopers

Grogginess and diabetes don't mix. Late one evening I hobbled upstairs to check Cassie's 2 a.m blood sugar like I usually do. I had forgotten that she was having a sleepover and the playroom was crowded with softly snoring girls. Luckily I tripped over Cassie who was wrapped up in a sleeping bag on the floor before I took the lancet to a non-diabetic finger!

That was a close one! I've almost checked the wrong finger before too.

In a dark room in my sleepy haze, I actually DID poke the wrong finger. Luckily my 7 year old didn't even wake up. lol

Oh boy! Half-asleep middle of the night tests certainly have that effect! I've done that, actually tripping and plummeting down some of my second-floor stairs on the way downstairs to where the meter sat on the kitchen table. Usually, it's upstairs. But not that night. Fortunately, nothing was broken - except my ability to sleep the rest of that night.

Too funny!!

Hey, I'm glad to see a dad involved with the diabetes care! My ex husband never helped....

Ooohh, that's funny!! I'm sure her friends wouldn't be quite sure what to think if you poked their fingers in the middle of the night!! :)
