I can picture the day (hopefully not too soon) when my daughter asks me if it's OK for her to get a tattoo. Now her mom and I don't have any body art and kinda cringe at the prospect of our kids getting inked.
Cassie is an accomplished debater. I'm sure she'd pose a hypothetical question like: "What if the tattoo said I have diabetes?" That way, it could eliminate the need for a medic alert bracelet.
I've seen some of nice ones, like the one pictured here by Erin from the Tu Diabetes forums. But tattoos are permanent. And I'd like to think she wouldn't need that tattoo forever.

My son had his six month anniversary appointment on becoming type one today - he is 14 and I've decided that I'm going to let him have one. I hope his diabetes can be cured one day, but for now he has to live with this terrible disease - at least one cool thing can come out of it!

Despite them begging for donations and PRETENDING to do research with our cash.
TRUST ME... they won't give up that massive pile of cash we spend on needles/infusion sets, test strips, insulin, and regular eye, HbA1C, Urine analysis, or creatinine.
Why would they cure diabetes and put themselves out of work?
Do the tattoo and nobody will miss the info or steal the bracelet.
Been there done that.
